are you f***ing serious?!?!?!?!
ohkay so last night, i went to my aunt’s house just to charge my iPod. my dad was at his warehouse drinking with his friends. when i arrived at my aunt’s house, i texted him and told him i was there and that i was going to go home soon. about 2 hours passed and he texted me: where r u? i told him i was still there. here are his exact “words”: ill pick u up. ARE YOU F***ING SERIOUS?!?!?!?!?! it pissed me off. about 10 minutes went by and he arrived. he was talking to my uncle and pretended he wasn’t here for me (which was a total fail) they know how he is. here’s a note to all the dads out there:
Dads,
if you have a daughter that’s in high school and is a 3rd or 4th year, stop worrying! they’ll be in college soon which means they’ll be off on their own. yes there comes a time where you’re going to worry but don’t do it to the extreme. the more you “try” and get close, the more your daughter will pull away. (i speak from experience). yes, you can worry but you have to think: they’re in good hands. they know what they’re doing. they’re most likely with other people their age or a year older which is a good thing. at least they’re not alone right? yes i know they’re your baby and you’ll do anything to protect them but you also have to let go. the more you try and keep that relationship you had when they were young, the more they will pull back and rebel. i know you don’t want that. there’s a moment in life where you have to look at your kids and tell yourself: they’re growing up. you can’t stop it. in fact, no one can. you have to live with it.
yours truly,
a daughter
